What is the most effective way to keep coyotes and other wildlife out of my yard?

I moved to an area that apparently has a lot of coyotes and a neighbor even said that he seen a bob cat. How do I keep them at bay? There are also a lot of bugs (daddy long legs, mosquitos) how do I keep all this away from my house?What is the most effective way to keep coyotes and other wildlife out of my yard?
You won't, really. The bugs are there to stay unless you get some bats to move in. Coyotes --- shooting them is my preferred method. Bobcats I leave alone, bears I leave alone. You gotta learn to get along with your critter neighbors (except groundhogs and coyotes, kill them).
