How do you protect livestock from wildlife?

How do you protect animals like sheep, pigs, goats, and even young calves or foals, from dangerous wildlife like cougars or coyotes? Will a good sheepdog and some barbed wiring do the trick, and do these animals, especially the young ones, need to be brought in a barn at night? How do you protect livestock from wildlife?
Well, a sheepdog might keep them in surprise for a little while but probably after a couple of nights the cougars and coyotes might find a way around. So i recomend that you bring the animals into a barn at night. it could save you a lot of money! $$$$$ :DHow do you protect livestock from wildlife?
A couple good Livestock Guard Dogs [I have Great Pyrenees Dogs] and an electric fence with a good zap work wonders. If you're dealing with big cats and bear, you need a few.

Maremma

Anatolian

Komondor

etc etc. I chose Great Pyrs because they're generally friendly with people but protective of their flock/herd.
Great piranese or miramas.....all wildlife that eat cattle or sheep are afraid of them.....and they live right out in the herd with the animals, dont need to be brought into anywhere.... as for barbed wire.. personal choice if you want hurt animals I guess... electric fencing is better but more costly.
