How do you learn wildlife feather painting?

How do you do feather painting? Do you have to undercoat with gesso? Do you use acylics or oils? Can you draw on a feather and, if so, with graphite or ink? I have searched the net and found lots of examples but no ';how to';lessons. How do you learn wildlife feather painting?
Do you mean like this?

Hi,

I suppose that mean to paint ON feathers, right ?

I'm sure that you've found some neat examples, but like you said didn't find the 芦how to禄.

Well, let me tell you that when I see a work from an artist and I want to know how it's achieved....well....I contact the artist and ask away :-)

The experience is usually rewarding.

Good luck !

Kind regards,
