How dangerous is the wildlife in the Santa Monica Mountans?

Yesterday in class, I heard from our professor that if people work in the SM Mountains, you'll have to deal with rattlesnakes. Now I hate snakes. I can't stand the sight of them.

The mountains are where the critters live. If you journey into the mountains, or live in communities along the foothills, you may have an encounter with a Rattle Snake, Cougar, or Bear, but it doesn't happen too often. Rattle snakes don't like to be people and will try to avoid us. They only become dangerous when they feel trapped or threatened.How dangerous is the wildlife in the Santa Monica Mountans?
The Santa Monica Moutntains are so beautiful! I often go there and I hardly ever see any unusual animals or snakes, I've never seen a snake there before. I have seen a bear and deer. The real worry about going into the mountains is stalking animals! I have been stalked by a bear. It was really scary

The snakes feel the same way about you.





You wouldn't like them to be traipsing through your house.





Stay on the trails, don't stick you hand in any holes or under rocks. Carry pepper spray if you're that worried. Carry a cell phone.





You can't die from a snake bite anyway.
