What would be a good college to look into for becoming a wildlife biologist?

Lovely idea, but is there a job out there in the end????

Never train for something in the hopes of finding a job...... find out what kinds of jobs there are in that field, what they require of you, and what exactly you will be doing ( and for how much pay, and for what kind of job security!!!!!), Before you major in it in college.......or you will end up as lots of these gomers have ended up....work all your life for nothing, and still working at 76 for Costco, or Walmart.

I'm serious, hon. Wildlife biology is a great interest of mine, and I've been all over the planet photographing, writing, and even selling a photograph or two, and getting an assignment once in a while, as well.......... so has everyone else. Cameras are cheap. So, I have my hobby as a fanciful time into which I escape...Africa, Nepal, where ever. But I didn't wish to live in a shack, either.

So I have a ';real job'; that pays the bills. What would be a good college to look into for becoming a wildlife biologist?
Generally, you will have better chances at the state universities. I'm biased toward Cornell U.What would be a good college to look into for becoming a wildlife biologist?
Try Texas A and M

It is NOT impossible to find a job in this field. There are even more jobs for wildlife biologists now than in the past due to hundreds of new environmental consultant firms. There is also always the government route, non-profits, research, teaching, etc. Yes, it is a competative field, and you will need hands-on experience along with a degree, but if this is your passion go for it. No reason to work in career you hate because someone discouraged you from pursuing your dreams.
