I need at least a hundred people to sign if they are against. Even if you're not, feel free to make a post. Purely opinion. How many people are against building projects that scare away wildlife or destroy the habitats of plants?
It does not matter where people build, they are always going to destroy wildlife and plant habitats. It's unavoidable.
Seeing how humans are the dominate species, and the most intelligent, we have control over where we can live and what we need to live in. But we also need to take those skills and try and apply it so the least amount of environmental damage is done when doing construction.
And humans aren't the only ones who destroy ecosystems when they build. Beavers do it all the time, they can destroy entire ecosystems and recreate another. That is exactly what humans do when they build.
The real problem is that certain freak out when they see development, and think they are perfect. Wrong. Each one of them lives in a home which was built to destroy the habitat that used to be there, and they interact with the same damage every day. Hypocrites...that's all these radicals are. They don't take into account that there are other species out there which do far greater damage than we do, just on a different scale. Then because of their radical views, it affects the economy, causes businesses to go bankrupt and then we end up with financial crisis' like we are currently in. Going Green is by far the worst environmental initiative any human could ever come up with. If you disagree, that's fine. Soon you will understand once we end up in a far much worse situation. How many people are against building projects that scare away wildlife or destroy the habitats of plants?
Blanket statements, such as the one in your petition are overly simplistic. Building your house destroyed the habitat of plants and displaced wildlife. Even if you live in a cave, you are taking up a habitat that could be used by other organisms.
Building projects have to be considered individually, balancing the costs in environmental degradation against the benefits. It can be a tedious study for a large project and take a year or so, involving a team of engineers and scientists. Sometimes the construction is approved, sometimes rejected, sometimes approved with modifications.
If you are talking about scaring away squirrels, possums, rabbits, or such, I could care less. However if it is bobcats, bears, or any animals that need to be protected because of their population, then actions need to be taken. The same goes for plants. If you are talking about a pine tree, don't even bother.
If you sign my dihydrogen monoxide ban petition, I'll sign yours.
Why would anyone sign such a thing? What if it was building a new safe road and only 2 squirrels were made to move. What if it were to build a huge solar project and some dung beetles had to move on.
The devil is in the details, go back to school and write up a report on the pros and cons, then go out and drum up signatures.
i hate that with all of the cities and stuff we have, our world is STILL building things....why do we have to remodel stuff all the time?!?!?!? thats why there are so many more animals on the endangered species list!!!!
